Albany area YMCA wants you to get fit for 2015

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Area YMCA is encouraging area residents to get fit for the New Year.

They will be hosting an Open House on New Year's Day at both the Central and Lee County facility for members and non-members.

Those who want to join the YMCA on Thursday will not have to pay an enrollment fee during this yearly tradition.

Folks can also participate in seven new fitness classes will be introduced to get in shape for the new year.

“It's for a wide range of age groups and fitness abilities,” said Donnette Lewis.

“This is a way to come out and be a part of the community, it's a way to commit to fitness and a healthy lifestyle which is one of the basic tenants of our YMCA,” said Dan Gillan.

Refreshments and T-shirts will be given out to the first 105 people at the Albany branch and 24 at the Lee County branch. Open house will be from 1-4 p.m.
