Suspect's court appearance delayed; ambulance at jail

The court appearance for Eric Kyle Newell, 26, has been delayed, and an ambulance was spotted at the jail, though officials have not said why the ambulance is there.

He  is charged with terroristic threats, and criminal attempted robbery by intimidation.

Dougherty Co. Police have confirmed that the man charged in connection with an armed robbery at a CVS Pharmacy in Lee County is also connected to a robbery at a convenience store on Christmas Day.

Newell was the suspect in an attempted robbery at a Kangaroo convenience store on Mock Road.

The charges come after Newell was arrested by Lee Co. deputies on Saturday on White Pond Road.

Deputies said he was wearing the same clothes he had on during the CVS Pharmacy armed robbery.

Newell also had active warrants for failure to appear in a shoplifting case.
