LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) -

Officials confirm that at least five employees in a business were taken to a hospital after strong storms produced possible tornadoes in Lowndes County at Langdale Forest Products on Madison Highway. Officials said some of them were trapped.

They later confirmed that two of the employees were seriously injured. A manager at the business said all of their employees were accounted for, and reported that those who were trapped were freed around 12:30 p.m. Monday.

The National Weather Service tracked the storm near Naylor, which is about 11 miles east of Valdosta. Areas near Stockton and Greenwood were also affected.

The storm formed Monday morning, and tornado warnings were issued for Lowndes, Lanier, and Echols counties.

Trees and power lines were also reported down in the area.
