Valdosta woman details life struggles in new book

Crystal Coffen, Author of Broken Wings Fly Crystal Coffen, Author of Broken Wings Fly

A Valdosta woman writes a book detailing her life struggles in hopes of inspiring other battered women.

Crystal Coffen published her book Broken Wings Fly last month. She writes about her molestation at the age of 12 by her mother's ex-boyfriend, domestic violence and broken relationships. Coffen says she kept the molestation a secret from her family for 28 years. She says she used prayer to forgive her abuser.

"My family, this is their first time hearing about it,” said Crystal Coffen, Author. “I'm no longer ashamed of it because I feel like I'm redeemed and it's time to maybe change somebody else's life and make them realize that you don't have to live with this. This is something you can overcome."

Coffen plans to donate her books to battered women shelters and already has books being sent to women prisons in Hawkinsville and Alto, Georgia. You can contact Coffen for a copy of her book by emailing her at crystalcoffen38@gmail.com or by clicking here.
