ALBANY, GA (WALB) - After Christmas sales popped up all over Albany Friday and many shoppers are taking advantage of the deals.
Signs of sales lined the Albany mall Friday, and even locally-owned boutiques got into the spirit around town.
Many store owners said they were pleased with this year's holiday sales.
Owners of smaller stores say it's important to have these sales the day after Christmas to compete with larger retailers.
They expect their sales to increase even more this weekend as more and more prices are slashed.
"Well everybody's looking for a deal the day after, and they know that Christmas items especially are going to be on sale. And they want to get what they can and get bargains for next year," said MaeBrey Market owner Tonia Davis.
Boutique owners said they expected more customers than they had on Friday, but were hopeful that more shoppers will take advantage of weekend low prices.
