Victim named in Christmas Day fatal crash

COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) -

Georgia State Patrol has released the name of a woman who died in a Christmas day crash in Colquitt County.

The crash happened around 4 p.m. Thursday.

Officials said 53-year-old Sandra Deborah Cole Middleton of Ashburn died when the car she was passenger in

crashed into a tree on Sumner Road.

According to a report, her grandson was driving at the time. He was taken to the hospital with injuries, but was expected to be okay. His name was not immediately available.

Troopers said the two were traveling toward Moultrie on Sumner Road when the driver lost control, swerved the car across the road and crashed.
