AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Americus Volunteers spent their Christmas Day serving holiday meals to folks in need.
Nearly three hundred people came out to the Open Hands Community Christmas Dinner. Volunteers served turkey, dressing, and dessert. Kids were also able to pick out books to take home.
"We're willing to sacrifice some time on Christmas day to feed the people. It's a fellowship. Some people live by themselves, so they've got somewhere to go on Christmas day," said Annie Bell Moss, Open Hands Community Coordinator.
After the dinner volunteers took carry-out plates to people who were not able to make it to the event.
