THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - The Thomas County Food Bank is providing food for many families in need this Christmas.
Volunteers said donations from the community helped keep their shelves full.
This is the first time in several years the Food Bank has been able to hand out turkeys.
They expected more than 150 families to pick one up Tuesday morning.
President of the Thomas County Food Bank Janice Anderson said, “The holiday season is perhaps a little bit extra special, but it's a year-round ministry that we have. And you feel good every time you come.”
Families were also able to pick out coats, blankets, and Christmas gifts.
