Fraternity donates more kids' coats

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Delta Delta chapter of Sigma Pi Phi fraternity continued its decade-long tradition of donating children's coats to the Salvation Army.

Tuesday, the fraternity gave fifty coats to the Albany Salvation Army chapter, at a meeting at JC Penney, in the Albany Mall.

This is the 10th straight year for the donations.

"There are so many kids out there who just don't have a coat. And a lot of them who may have a coat already are not really representative of what we would like to see them to have," said Dr. Wilburn Campbell.

Salvation Army Chief Kelly English said that the coats are always appreciated, and our current weather pattern is proof.

Dr. Will Campbell, Sire Archor of the Sigma Pi Phi chapter presented the coats, along with Albany J.C. Penney Store Manager Joe Iles.
