ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany 311 call center said they've a great year
311 is a non emergency center to report issues related to the city, county or utility services.
A 311 app rolled out earlier this year and has seen a 35 percent increase in request through the mobile app and online.
The free service has been around for 5 years and takes about 25-thousand calls a year.
311 said they are getting great feedback from the community who uses their services.
"Getting involved, calling in and participating in the mayor call to service program. So we are getting that types of thing we hadn't in the past because people are creating neighborhood watch groups. Trying to get the word out anyway we can that we are here and available," said Tricia Borsdorf, 311 call center supervisor.
The highest call volume is for public works and code enforcement. The 311 call center is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
