LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - Monday, WALB learned more about the officer involved shooting in Lowndes County Friday.
The GBI said Monday that 52 year-old Thomas G. Joslyn approached Lowndes County sheriff's deputy SSgt. Charles Mceady with a gun in his possession while threatening to commit suicide.
That's why SSgt. Mceady decided it was necessary to fire multiple shots at Joslyn.
Joslyn underwent surgery at South Georgia Medical Center Friday evening and was listed in good condition Monday afternoon.
SSgt. Mceady remained on paid administrative leave Monday pending the investigation by the GBI.
SSgt. Mceady was called out to 4412 Cranston Circle around 11 a.m. Friday for a report of someone there armed with a gun and threatening to commit suicide
