LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - A Lee County man is dead after he was hit by a car while he was riding his bike. And the driver is arrested for non-crash related charges.

Georgia State Patrol troopers say around 5:45 am Monday, 25 year-old Dontrell Myers was driving a 1999 Oldsmobile Cutlass north on US 19 in the left lane, just south of Sandy Beach Road when he hit 69 year-old Marvin Ross, who was riding his bike.

Ross was pronounced dead at the scene.

Myers and his passenger, Diondrea Covin were taken to Phoebe Putney with non-life threatening injuries.

Myers was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana, less than an ounce.

The case remains under investigation.
