LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

A Lee County salon raises money for an Albany family whose baby was born with several rare birth defects.

Blonde Inc. Salon and Nail Spa gave out free haircuts for donations to raise money for six-week-old Joseph Kennedy. Funds from the haircuts, bake and jewelry sale will go towards medical and travel expenses for the family. Baby Joseph was born with Optiz Syndrome which causes physical birth defects and Dandy Walker Malformation which affects the brain.

“ It gets me really excited to know that the community is willing to come out not only to help me but to help Joseph also and I just appreciate everything that everybody is doing. You know this will help us as far as the travel expenses, getting back and forth, motel rooms for us, food cost because you know everything adds up in the end,” said Brandy Kennedy, Joseph's Mom.

Joseph will undergo at least 10 surgeries. You can help the family with donations here or by visiting the facebook group.
