LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

A Lee County Deputy who's been battling stage-4 renal disease now has a new kidney.

Deputy Stewart Williamson underwent surgery Friday in Atlanta, along with his donor, Richard Brown.

Brown, a former Albany Police officer, who now lives in Atlanta, reached out to Williamson through social media after seeing a story that WALB did a few months earlier.

Williamson, who was born with one kidney, spent two years searching for a donor.
