BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) - Bainbridge Public Safety Officers were able to take a break from work Friday morning to go Christmas shopping with families in need.
This is their third annual Shop with a Cop, but the first time they've had Walmart as a sponsor.
Officers gave parents $200 gift cards to buy groceries, while the kids picked out toys.
Bainbridge Public Safety Director Eric Miller said, “It has more satisfaction for us than I think it does for the families. We really do enjoy it. We look forward to it every year. It allows us to make contact with the community in a different way than we normally do.”
Families were able to buy gifts and food with the $1,600 raised from last Saturday's Jingle Bell Jog.
