BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -

A high school student is making a difference and helping out families in need- one cup of hot chocolate at a time.

Ryan Adams is a sophomore at Bainbridge High School. He has been selling $1 cups of hot chocolate every year since he was in fourth grade.

Last year, he was able to raise $3,000, which helped pay for toys, food, and clothing for families who needed some extra help during the holiday season.

"I just wanted to do something that was right, and help God out," said Adams. "They're trying, but no matter how hard they try, they just can't seem to get back on their feet."

He was able to raise $2,800 on Friday, and planned to go Christmas shopping for four more families on Monday.
