ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Schools will close for the holidays this week.
Many parents are looking for ways to keep their kids entertained, so they can go Christmas shopping.
The Albany Museum of Art is hosting their annual art class to help parents.
This year though, it is under a new name.
The Libby Womack Holiday Work Shop is named to honor the late museum trustee and one-time Dougherty County Woman of the Year.
It is the first time the AMA has named a workshop in honor of anyone.
Libby's husband, Jim, is proud to see the workshop continue under his wife's name.
"She was very committed to education. And she believed that art was a major way to open children's minds to discovery. And so it's a very appropriate meeting point." said Jim Womack.
The Libby Womack Art Workshop will be open next Monday and Tuesday.
Classes will run from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and is open for students in grades K4-5.
