Police ask for extra caution through the holidays

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Police will be stepping up patrols during the holidays.

More officers will be on duty patrolling malls, busy shopping areas and roadways.

Police ask that drivers keep their focus on the roads not on other things.

"We have zero tolerance for drinking and driving that means if you've had a few drinks, don't get behind the wheel, assign a designated driver," said Kalandria Peterson with Albany Police.

Officers also ask drivers to allow extra time when traveling so they are not in a rush.
