Crews reopen highway after Coffee Co. fertilizer spill

COFFEE CO., GA (WALB) -

All lanes of U.S. Hwy. 441 South have been reopened near the Atkinson County line after a trailer fell off of a truck and spilled liquid nitrogen fertilizer.

The Coffee County Fire Department said it happened after 1 p.m. when a wheel came off of the trailer, causing the spill.

Emergency crews were immediately dispatched to clean up the area.

The highway was blocked for more than two hours.
