Leesburg business uses art to get people into construction

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) -

A Leesburg business is using art to get young people interested in working in the construction industry.

MetroPower announced the winners of their first Art Contest held in collaboration with Lee County High School.

The company is working to get more students to consider careers in construction.

"That really inspired me to use gloves in the picture because it is part of the safety. So I did that for my dad, “said Kaityn Styles, Contest Winner.

"She did a wonderful job of creating this art for us. It explemifies who we are as a company and also the electrical trade itself,” said Tony Varamo, Metro Power Workforce.

First prize in the contest is five hundred dollars.

MetroPower is planning to have more of these around the state.
