LEE CO., GA (WALB) - Lee County investigators are working with Walmart to track down who called in a bomb threat Tuesday afternoon.
A worker in the clothing department received the call around 5:30 from a man who claimed there was a bomb in the pharmacy department. The associate immediately alerted store managers who ordered an evacuation and called 911.
An MCLB bomb unit was called in and cleared the scene around 7:45.
Now investigators are sifting through call logs.
"You have to see all the calls that came in around about the same time that the call came in. And at the same time we do have a lot of help from Walmart. The store associate who took the call, she's being very helpful and she feels like she will recognize the number again," said Lee Co. Sheriff's Investigator Matt Pearce.
Investigators say they take the threat seriously. If they catch the caller, they would be charged with terroristic threats and acts, which is a felony.
