LEE CO., GA (WALB) -

Lee County Sheriff's Deputies are asking for help to track down a man who robbed the Waffle House on US 19 S early Sunday morning.

Investigators said around 4:30 a.m. an armed, light-skinned black man, with a scar over his right eye, walked into the Waffle House with his face covered. He had a bag over his right hand and demanded money.

The suspect made the employees get all the money out of the register. He then ran off with $1,100.

Surveillance video released by Lee County investigators shows a robber grabbing a Waffle House employee by the throat around 4:30 Sunday morning at the restaurant on US 19 South.

A similar incident happened at the same Waffle House five months ago.

"Back in July there was a robbery, similar circumstances. It's too early to tell, but they may be connected," said Lee Co. Sheriff's Investigator Matt Pearce.

Two customers were inside the store at the time. No one was injured.
