TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - The Tift County School System gets two of 18 Innovation Fund grants handed out by the Governor's Office to help boost student achievement.
One will help with a college and career academy.
The other will help the system blend classroom learning with online learning.
"This grant will allow us to visit school systems that are doing blended learning on a larger scale than we currently are. We been trying it this year with some positive results from students and teachers. Places that are doing it right so that when we come back we have the right approach for our students," Jonathan Judy, Chief Technology Officer.
Money for the innovation fund comes from federal race to the top money.
The Bishop Hall Charter School in Thomas County is the only other group in our area to win one of the grants.
