Five men sought in Dawson armed robbery

DAWSON, GA (WALB) -

Officials say the ABC Package Store in Dawson was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.

The Terrell County Sheriff said five men wearing masks, hoods, and gloves ran into the store around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Three of the men were armed with guns, and one of them fired a BB gun and hit Paul Patel, an employee, but he was not injured.

A couple of customers were in the store at the time and locked themselves in a back room.

Authorities said the robbers got away with about $1,000 in cash, several large bottles of liquor, and cigarettes.

The thieves then left the store, and ran east on Augusta Street.

Patel said he went to Phoebe North to be checked out and was not injured, but just very shaken.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Terrell County Sheriff's Office at 229-995-4488.
