Gas prices continue to drop

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Gas prices continue to take a dive.

According to Gasbuddy.com, Gas is down to $2.08 a gallon at several stores in east Albany.

Gas was a few cents higher at stores on North Slappey Boulevard.

According AAA, the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded right now is $2.52.

That is five cents higher than the state average but almost $.70 less than what it was this time last year.

Drivers are happy that's putting a more money in their pockets this holiday season.

"Oh absolutely...The money I save here will go straight back in the economy allowing me to buy presents for my family, pay off some bills, and just spend some extra money somewhere that I would normally be spending at the gas tank." said Mikey Eberhardt.

"I'm glad they are going down. that means I got more money to spend." said Anthony Pohler.

The national average is down a full $.70 a gallon from this time last year.
