Cook High School coach charged in Valdosta drunk driving crash Sunday

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

WALB confirmed Tuesday that the man accused of driving drunk and crashing into two Valdosta homes Sunday night is an assistant coach at Cook County High School.

28 year-old Lee Caquelard is an assistant community coach for football and baseball. A district official said Tuesday that no disciplinary action is expected to be taken, pending Caquelard's possible resignation.

As of Tuesday though, Caquelard had not been asked to resign. 

No one was seriously hurt in the crash Sunday night. Police say Caquelard was speeding down Fawnwood Circle around 8 p.m. He tried to make it around the curve in the road but ended up hitting the mailbox at 2860 Fawnwood Circle.

Caquelard

lost control as a result of hitting the mailbox and smashed into the front of 2812 Fawnwood Circle, went through that house and crashed into the garage area of the house next door.

Caquelard was facing multiple charges Tuesday, including DUI.
