Two more surrender in federal drug investigation

TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Two Tifton men indicted by a federal grand jury are now in custody. The Tift County Sheriff's Office says 51-year old James Waters and 47-year old Chris Waters turned themselves in to U-S Marshals in Albany this morning.

The two men are among 12 people arrested after they were indicted for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Cocaine base. The GBI says more arrests are expected in this case.

"They have more financial resources and people than we do to continue and get to where we need to be to get these people arrested and cases in the court system," said Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough.

Sheriff Scarbrough says his office will continue to work with federal and state agencies to get drugs off Tift County streets.
