TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Two men indicted in by a federal grand jury in cocaine conspiracy operation are now in custody.
51-year old James Waters and 47-year old Chris Waters of Tifton turned themselves into the United States Marshals Office in Albany Monday morning.
The two men are among 13 people indicted last week for Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Cocaine Base according to a news release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
On Friday, DEA, GBI and Mid-South Narcotics Task Force agents arrested 59-year old Sarah Carter, 19-year old Diamond Carter, 26-year old Kayla Carter, 31-year old Jessica Tellez and 31-year old Kenyatta Mitchell in Tift, Cook and Colquitt Counties.
Kenyatta Mitchell is from Tifton and the others arrested Friday are from Omega.
34-year old Todd Carter, 37-year old Andrew Carter, 39-year old Jose Martinez all of Omega and 46-year old Juan Sanchez Hildago and 53-year old Pablo Sanchez of Tifton were already in jail when the arrest warrants were issued.
25-year old Lataris Waters was indicted last week but no arrest warrant has been issued for her.
The 15-count indictment is result of a lengthy investigation and has resulted in the seizure of three kilograms of cocaine, $300,000 in cash, ten firearms and investigators are filing documents to seize four properties in Tift and Cook Counties.
The United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Georgia is prosecuting this case and more arrests are expected.
