COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) - People in Colquitt County are proudly showing their support for the Colquitt County Packers who won the Division 6-A State Championship game Saturday night.
Colquitt County Packer fans are proudly showing their support for their hometown team as the Packers defeated Archer 28 to 24 in Saturday's 6-A State Championship game at the Georgia Dome.
"You know we just can't show your or explain how happy we are that it's happened," said Erwin Mercer, Supporter.
Fans who attended the game said the atmosphere was incredible.
"Oh it was great, we had such camaraderie, and team spirit," said Debby Whitley- Supporter
Businesses in Downtown Moultrie showed their support writing, "GO Pack Go" and "We Love our Packers" on their display windows. Business owners say playoff t-shirts sold out quickly Saturday.
"Yesterday was just crazy. Everybody was running around in a hurry to get to the Dome and of course they wanted all of the Packer clothing," said Vickie Thompson
Thompson owns "Main Street Galleria" and says she's stocking up on Championship t-shirts and is selling a number of Packer Championship memorabilia like these Christmas ornaments.
Ryan Kebler is the Packer's Athletic Trainer and knows firsthand how hard the team worked to win the championship.
" To go 15 and 0 is just the cherry on top. It's a special group of kids and they deserve it," said Ryan Kebler
" We've been working on this for a long time and we're just so fortunate to have Coach Probst and his family here and they have really brought the community together," said Debby Whitley, supporter.
This is the Colquitt County Packers first State Championship in 20 years.
