The Internal Revenue Service is warning people not to take out loans using their final pay stub of the year.
The IRS says some companies promise to file taxes using your final pay stub.
But no one can file their income taxes yet, according to IRS officials, because W-2 forms do not ship until January, and that form is required when submitting a tax return.
Agents say these companies are handing out loans and anyone receiving one of these loans still has to file an income tax return.
"Hold onto your money. Hold onto your preparation fees. Reduce the stress and time that you have to go back to in order to file a correct tax return," said IRS spokesperson Mark Green.
The IRS says they do not expect to start processing tax returns until January 31st.
