Albany church plans to feed thousands in the community

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Members of the First Apostolic Church in Albany were busy Thursday prepping food boxes for their annual food giveaway.

Every year the church gives away boxes of food to anyone in the community.

Last year they feed over 1,400 people.

The boxes are free- all you have to do is show a form of identification.

“They get a box of food containing some meat products in the past we been very liberal. We had turkeys and ham. So we have a limited supply of both. We're just trying to serve the public with what has been given to us,” Pastor Betty Jackson, First Apostolic Chuch.

The food giveaway is this Saturday, December 13 at 8 a.m. It lasts until all the food is gone.

Donations are still needed to help with the efforts.

The church is located on 421 Lumpkin Street in Albany. Call 229-869-1549 for more information.
