ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Law Enforcement officers in Albany and Dougherty County were recognized for their hard work.
The Dougherty County District Attorney's Office held their 2nd annual Law enforcement awards at Merry Acres tonight.
They awarded 11 people from various agencies and departments.
The District Attorney says tonight's recognition of officers is timely after the controversial events in Ferguson and New York City.
"The vast majority of police officers are committed to our community, committed to justice, committed to fairness and we want to recognize them as much as possible," Greg Edwards, Doughtery County DisDistricttorney.
All the officers awarded tonight went through a nominating process by members of the district attorney's office.
