SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) - A new drug task force in Worth County has netted positive results in just its first year. Worth County Sheriff Jeff Hobby says the unit made 115 arrests this year.
Investigators made felony arrests in almost 50 of those cases. Hobby says proactively getting these drugs off the streets is important for the youth coming up in the community.
"I've got kids growing up in this county. There's people, employees and they got children coming up and they don't and they dont want to worry about their kids getting hooked on drugs and stuff like that," said Worth County Sheriff Jeff Hobby.
Sheriff Hobby hopes to increase the manpower on the task force in 2015.
