VSU is trying to help active duty military personnel earn a degree in nursing.

The university is reserving five out of the 50 spots in its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for active duty military members. Members rank E4 and above from all branches of service can apply, but should do so by January 15th, 2015.

The coordinator for VSU's Center at Moody Air Force Base said Airmen are excited for this opportunity. "They're very excited about this opportunity," Mark Smith, the center's coordinator, said. "We had an information session a few weeks ago and we had approximately 30 Airmen to show up. That shows a great deal of interest towards that particular program."

Those accepted would begin classes in Fall of 2015.
