BACONTON, GA (WALB) - A high school student at Baconton Community Charter School won a contest for a recipe he made.
9th grader Kyle Hamilton won the first 4-H Pantry Pride Recipe Contest at the 2014 Georgia National Fair for his Cowboy Taco Soup.
Part of Kyle's prize package was having free food from Arby's Food Truck, as well as games and activities at school.
Kyle loves to cook at home and works part-time for a catering company.
He took a recipe he found on the internet and changed modified it to make it his own.
"When we got up there to do the contest, the lady after we all got finished and everybody was getting their awards, she said, 'well, we must have a cowboy in the house!' And I was like, 'I think I just won,'" said Hamilton.
Kyle is creative and environmentally conscious.
He said he wants solar panels for Christmas for his shop at home.
