ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Judge Glenda Hatchett is visiting Albany, as a mentor to African American women looking at a career in the field of law.
Judge Hatchett was Delta Airlines highest ranking african american female senior attorney. Then as presiding judge of the Fulton County Georgia Juvenile Court.
The emmy award winning show Judge Hatchett ran for 9 seasons. She serves on numerous boards and is a national spokesperson for children's advocacy groups.
She is also a best-selling author and now has started The Hatchet Firm in Atlanta.
She spoke to the Albany Chapter of the Georgia Association of black women attorneys Wednesday, and says she wants to share some of her life lessons and struggles and encourage these women on their journey to practicing law.
"This is the new generation of thought leaders who are making differences in our communities not just because they are black women attorneys but because they care about what happens in south georgia and I'm very proud of them."
Judge Hatchett says her national law firm based in Atlanta will be specializing in catastrophic injury, medical malpractice, and product liability.
