THOMAS CO., GA (WALB) - A Thomas County man is behind bars after running from deputies during his arrest.

24-year-old Adrian Davis is charged with felony obstruction of officers and probation violation.

Deputies recognized Davis while they were patrolling Susie Q's convenience store on Jackson Street early Saturday morning.

They said Davis fought officers and ran away after he was placed in handcuffs.

Captain Steve Jones with the Thomas County Sheriff's Office said, “My deputy was struck in the face, he was hit numerous times, he was kicked.  That's serious business, and we can't tolerate that.”

Davis was denied bond Tuesday and will remain at the Thomas County Jail.
