Stewart Co. dispatcher accused of theft

PRESTON, GA - The Americus Office of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation says Thadius Dajuan Sheftall, 18,  who lives on Churchhill Road, in Preston, is charged with stealing $1,360 in cash from the Stewart County Sheriff's Office.

The GBI was requested by the Stewart County Sheriff's Office to conduct the investigation when they discovered an attempt to forcibly enter a safe in the office which contained bond money.

The investigation revealed that Sheftall stole the money while on duty in his capacity as a dispatcher.

Sheftall was arrested at his residence by agents and deputies Tuesday, and charged with felony Theft by Taking, and Criminal Interference with Government Property.
