Albany family takes delivery of free Caddy

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - When Covin Mitchell decided to buy one extra lottery ticket, he had no idea that the last ticket he bought that day would put him behind the wheel of a new Cadillac, but it did.

Wednesday morning, James "Chef" Covin, 61, and his family took delivery of a black 2015 Cadillac SRX, awarded by the Georgia Lottery Corporation, at Prince Cadillac on Ledo Road.

Mitchell played the instant game Cadillac Riches and won the SRX plus $39,772. Sunrise Grocery, 1608 W. Broad Ave. in Albany, sold the winning ticket.

"This will make for a good Christmas with the grandkids," Covin said. "We'll invest the money, and let it draw interest."

Covin and Jean Mitchell, and their son Quaza Young, were there to receive the keys to their new vehicle, and they said they feel especially blessed.

Quaza Young said, "We're going from a mediocre ride to a Cadillac. I had to see the ticket, and see the media here, and see the car to really believe it. My folks are early to bed, so about 7:30 this evening, you might see me driving around in it…"
