ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of Albany Boys and Girls Club members were surprised with new technology Tuesday afternoon.
Samsung helped renovate a room at the Jane Wilson Unit on Holloway Avenue into a state of the art Tween Tech Center.
Kids tested out new laptops, tablets, and a smart television.
The partnership is designed to get students more interested in science, technology, engineering and math or STEM.
"They serve over 180 daily. So that means it going to be a lot of kids that's going to come in here and use the tablets to do homework enrichment, school projects and also research papers," said Bob Hutchinson, Chief Professional Officer.
The club is one of only 10 sites in the country and the only one in Georgia to get this new technology.
