DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) - Decatur County Attorney Brown Moseley surprised commissioners Tuesday morning with the announcement of his resignation.
Moseley has been the county's attorney for the past 10 years.
He told commissioners that he's reached a personal and family decision to leave his position.
But he agrees to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Grady County Administrator Colonel Gary Breedlove said, “He has agreed by discussion with board members to continue to serve until the new board can acquire the next legal assistance.”
Moseley's resignation comes at a time when the county is in the middle of a heated legal dispute with the city of Bainbridge regarding service delivery charges.
