Decatur Co. reviews employee legal fees

Commission Chairman Frank Loeffler Commission Chairman Frank Loeffler
BAINBRIDGE, GA (WALB) -  Decatur county commissioners have added temporary revisions to a resolution that made the county financially responsible for employee's legal fees.

In August Commissioners agreed to pay attorney fees to county employees charged with crimes that happened while they were on the job.

But the board said the resolution was way too broad, and they have now agreed on guidelines for legal defense and certain exclusions.

"They approved it temporarily, until we can get the final draft and everything in it that the commissioners feel will be good for the county," said Commission Chairman Frank Loeffler.

The final draft of the resolution is expected to be completed next year as three new commissioners join the board.
