President Carter made Honorary Ambassador for Hasan Shrine

PLAINS, GA (WALB) -

President Jimmy Carter has teamed up with the Hasan Shrine to help children internationally.

President Carter was made Honorary Ambassador for Hasan Shrine Center in Albany. A proclamation was given among guests from temples around Georgia at Plains High School last week.

Now, the Carter Center will be working with Shriners' Hospital for Children to expand medical care for kids around the world.

"It's just going to be unlimited the amount of additional children we will be helping," said Johnny Walker, Hasan Shrine High Priest and Profit.

"With President Carter on board, he reaches around the world and we can identify more children and help more children," said Potentate Bill Willingham.

Hasan Shrine Potentate Bill Willingham gave the proclamation Monday, December 1st.

President Carter said in his speech following the proclamation that the Carter Center has had programs in 80 countries.
