New study may help improve DC school system

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - The Dougherty County School System will present the findings of a nine month study by the UGA Carl Vinson Institute on the State of Education in Dougherty County.

Parents, students and the community are invited. School Superintendent David Mosely said the study was an effort to develop a game plan to enhance education and what they are doing wrong and what works for the system.

"We've got too many program. We've got so many, we're not doing good in some of them which I recognized that early on. We got to do a better job of recruiting. We got to get high quality of math and science teachers, whatever it takes," Dr. David Mosely, Superintendent.

Darton, Albany State and Albany Tech Presidents will be at the summit.

The Education Summit is Thursday in Albany Tech Kirkland Center at 6 p.m.
