Clerks at the Colquitt County Courthouse are reminding veterans of the services they offer to them.
They're encouraging veterans to file their discharge papers or DD-2-14 forms at the Clerk of Courts office.
There's no recording fee to file the documents. They also say you need to bring your driver's license with you.
"The family often comes to our office to get a copy of the DD-2-14 forms whenever a loved one, a veteran has passed," said Lynn Purvis, Clerk of Superior, State and Juvenile Court. "If they want to have the military funeral this assists them in that."
You can file your DD-2-14 forms at the Colquitt County Courthouse Monday thru Friday from 8 to 5.
