Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s niece was in Albany promoting non-violence.

Dr. Alveda King was the guest speaker at a booking signing at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Reverend Lavarn Watson released his new book called "Injustice Within Our Justice System: The Lavarn Watson Story." King says the best way to fight injustice in America is through non-violence.

"The most important thing that we have to do for Dr. Watson, his book, Ferguson, New York, Trayvon, is to have faith in God to pray on our knees, get up off of our knees and address injustice,” said Dr. Alveda King, Civil Rights Activists.

Watson is a native of Albany and wrote his book after he says he was wrongly convicted of rape in 1977. His book is about his conviction, and the fight to clear his name. A video from Rev. Jesse Jackson was also played at the book signing.
