City of Albany ready for Celebration of LIghts parade

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The 24th annual Celebration of Lights parade is Saturday.

Entertainment will start at 5 p,m. in the 200 block of Pine Avenue.

The parade kicks off at 6.

The route will be longer this year ending near the RiverQuarium where food vendors will be set up.

Several streets will be blocked off starting at noon but alleys will remain open.

“You really need to use the feeder streets like Flint if you're trying to get somewhere downtown or Jefferson up to Pine. But Pine will be blocked up from virtually from noon on. And the later the day gets Broad will be blocked off,” said Lorie Farkas.

Some bleachers are set up downtown but you're encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

If you can't make it down to see it in person you can watch it live here on WALB NEWS 10 starting at 6.
