ALBANY, GA (WALB) - After a successful first year, the Tift Park Community Market will wrap up Saturday.
Friends of Tift Park started the market in July.
They say more than 300 people came out each Saturday to buy fresh produce and handmade arts and crafts.
They're hoping for a big crowd Saturday from 9 to 3.
Organizers say the community market turned out to be a huge success, so they won't be closed for long.
"We plan on coming back in March. The first Saturday. We are going to coincide with Mardi Gras downtown and try to tap into the crowd they draw. We have bigger and better things for the park coming. We have sponsorships coming next year," said Stephen Brimberry.
"Everybody selling their wares. Visiting is a big part of Tift Park for me. We've meet so many people and we've become friends but were going to keep that going," said Tia Danson.
They say Tift Park's great location and history helped the market succeed.
