ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany State fraternity is continuing its goal to deliver 500 meals in just 100 days.
The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity was handing out meals to children at the Boys and Girls Clubs on Jefferson Street and the Jane Willson Club on Holloway Avenue on Friday afternoon..
In 2012, Georgia had one of the highest hunger rates for children under 18.
More than 70 percent of children at the Boys and Girls Club of Albany live below the poverty line.
"I think it is great anytime young men can come out and give back to the community. That is what life is all about. Giving back and sharing." said Boys and Girls Club Service Director Jason Belk.
The Boys and Girls Club of Albany provides meals to more than 200 of their members each day.
