THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Nearly 300 shoppers in Thomasville got a chance to win back some of the money they spent on Small Business Saturday last weekend.

This is the first year the Downtown Thomasville Main Street has used passports to give shoppers an incentive to shop small.

For each item they purchased, they received a stamp from the participating store,  and were entered into winning the grand prize.

Thomasville Tourism Executive Director Karen Smith said, “We came up with something that would work for everyone.  And it not only rewarded the business owners, but it also rewarded the shoppers as well.”

The winners were chosen at random Friday morning.

Five shoppers won $20 prizes, while one lucky winner won the $200 grand prize.
